Five unforgettable days on this great Macedonian tour

Day 1

1 Day – Skopje – North Macedonia

We are starting this five days "Best of Macedonia" tour with sightseeing of Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. The Old Railway Station and Museum, Memorial House of Mother Teresa born in Skopje, Macedonia Square and the monuments Alexander Macedonian, Justinian Prima, Samuel King, Arch Gate, Parliament, Old Stone Bridge, Fortress Kale, church St. Spasold Bazaar, and others.

-Dinner in a Macedonian traditional restaurant, where you shall have the opportunity to taste some of the best Macedonian traditional foods, such as Sarma – Stuffed Cabbage Rolls, Tavce Gravce – Baked Beans, Musaka – Moussaka, Pastrmajlija – Macedonian Pizza, Ajvar – Pepper Spread, Polneti Piperki – Stuffed Bell Peppers, Turlitava – Vegetable and Meat Stew.


Day 2

Skopje – Aquaduct - Canyon Matka - Mountain Vodno - Millenium cross

After breakfast we shall visit the old Skopje Aqueduct. The Skopje Aqueduct is an aqueduct and archaeological site located 2 km northwest of central Skopje, North Macedonia.

Continuing to the Canyon Matka were you will have the chance to see the deepest underwater cave, namely Vrelo Cave was listed as one of the top 77 natural sites in the world. Also the Matka Lake within the Matka Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country.

-Continuing to Monastery St. Panteleimon.

The Church of Saint Panteleimon in Gorno Nerezi, North Macedonia, is a small 12th-century Byzantine church located in a monastery complex. The church and monastery are dedicated to St. Panteleimon, the patron saint of physicians.

-Sightseeing at the famous Millennium Cross on the top of the Vodno mountain. The Millennium Cross is a 66-metre tall cross situated on the top of Vodno Mountain in the Republic of North Macedonia above the capital city of Skopje. It is one of the tallest crosses in the world.


Day 3

Tetovo – Mavrovo – Vevcani – Struga - Ohrid

After the breakfast we are going to the city of Ohrid.

Ohrid once had 365 churches, one for each day of the year, and has been referred to as a "Jerusalem of the Balkans". Ohrid and Lake Ohrid were accepted as Cultural and Natural World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Ohrid is one of only 28 sites that are part of UNESCO's World Heritage that are Cultural as well as Natural sites.

Then we shall visit city of Tetovo and the Painted Mosque built in 1438 - Pasha's Mosque.

Continuing the journey to the Bigorski Monastery St John the Baptist which is a Macedonian Orthodox monastery, dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
The trip will be with around the canyons of the Black Drim and Radica rivers, Mavrovo and Debar Lake.

Visiting the St. Nicholas Church, (Macedonian: Св. Никола Летен) is an abandoned church in Mavrovo, North Macedonia which is submerged in Mavrovo Lake.

Also, a visit to the old mill in the village Vevcani. Lunch in national restaurant Vevcani.

Visit to city Struga. Sightseeing of the old city.

Continuing to Ohrid and overnight.

Day 4

City of Ohrid


Sightseeing of the ancient city Ohrid (Lihnidos), a Macedonian city of Jerusalem UNESCO with 365 churches and monasteries.

Visiting some of the landmarks of the town like - Old town, St.Sophia, gallery icons, house Robev, the ancient theater, St. Virgin Perivlepta, fortress of King Samuil, Plaoshnik. St. John Kaneo.

Caffe break.

Afternoon visit the monastry St. Naum, the river Black Drin and museum on water.

Overnight in town.

Day 5

City of Ohrid - Monastery St.Naum


We’ll take a trip on the scenic route along the lake’s east shore to St Naum, which lies a few kilometers from the Albanian border.

The first stop on the road will be “The Bay of Bones” near the village Gradiste which is a reconstructed village on stilts like they were built in the Bronze Age. After a few kilometers drive on the narrow and winding road with beautiful views of the lake and villages far below us, we shall came to St. Naum. The views of the lake and the snow-capped mountains in Galicica National Park is stunning. The old monastery Sv Naum was built in the 900′s and in the old church St. Naum is buried. They say you can still hear his heartbeat if you listen really, really closely at his chest on the tomb. The monastery with its church has a beautiful location with great views over Lake Ohrid and of the fields where a number of peacocks peacefully are walking around. Over the whole place you feel strong spirituality!

After Sv Naum we’ll visit the springs of the river Crni Drim. Maybe this is the nicest place in Macedonia.

After visiting the church Sveta Petka we’ll drive you back to Ohrid.

Day 6


After breakfast, drive back to Skopje.
